Cravings

So every other Monday, after a full day of work, I swing by the bank to put my check in, pick up a few odds and ends at the mall (always needing a new maternity size something) and then it's off to the grocery store. That sounds simple only by this time I am exhausted and starving, so everything in the store looks either amazing (must have) or unbearably disgusting.

Anyway I went into the cereal aisle looking for a decent on sale cereal, maybe Cheerios, I thought, There was only one flavor of Cheerios on sale. A little later in the ice cream aisle once again only one flavor of ice cream on sale. Did I mention I've been craving peanut butter?

My kids

j- Jenna, does your baby have clothes on?

a- What's a Uterus?

j- why does your baby get hungry?

j- does your baby eat all your food?

j-do babies drink regular milk like us?

j- your baby will need a balloon when it comes out. (also at different points: a scrap of paper, a drawing, a bracelet, a teddy bear, a whistle, a straw...)

l- ...And then your baby will eat all the food in your stomach and come out your mouth.

s- Just suck your stomach in like me, well then just try harder...

When telling them about the ultrasound:
j- are they gonna take the baby out to take the picture?

a- it looks like a tunnel

o- why does your baby look like that?

Well 5ths is running around our building again, and there is another newly pregnant woman, so I tried to tell my director to let these women know the risks and that they should talk to their doctors, she seemed very resistant. well that was a run on sentence. Hopefully the repeated exposure doesn't hurt my baby in any way.

I just really don't feel like I got my energy back with this second trimester.

OOh we are heading to the cities this weekend to pick up the crib! I am very excited to get the room set up! Pictures to follow!

worry

So the doctor tells me I get to have a second ultrasound, and then it sinks in the doctor is telling me I need a second ultrasound...They say everything looks good right now, but my exposure to 5ths disease at work could really harm the fetus and they want to check 12 weeks after exposure, which will be at the end of February. My blood test on all this came back great, Mom says I had it as a child so I should have the proper immunities. Still, that doesn't seem to take away the nagging worry. And it doesn't help at all that one of the moms at work lost her baby at about 22weeks from this same exposure.

Okay, So I am typing this pouring out my worry, and my neighbor starts in... not the rabbits to the left, Mr. Number 8. "I like it, OOOh I Like it baby! bam bam bam bam bam bamwham wham. to youuuu! kick it kick it...." and on it goes. I hope he moves soon.

The Crib

We have yet to go pick it up, but it was ordered today!  We also got the bookshelf (in a darker color). and the moon lamp. OOh and a cute rug!

20 weeks

Getting closer!

I am half way there! 50% complete! I can't wait to meet this little person and be done with all these strange symptoms. I'll try and remember to take a half way belly picture later. OOh and tomorrow is crib day! I am very excited to start setting up the nursery.

exciting! (well for me)

So on Sunday Justin felt baby move for the first time, just a little, but still very exciting! and today we got the diaper bag in the mail! my future purse is awesome! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for the Christmas money, I love the diaper bag it bought!
